Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are looking forward to the upcoming Ceremony of Light and Pledge (Please see attached link: Ceremony of light and pledge), in St. Mary’s Church Broadford on Friday the 9th of May 2025. We will offer confession from 6:00pm-7:15pm followed by Mass at 7:30pm.

During the Ceremony of Light you will have the opportunity to symbolically pass on the light of faith to your child, just as you did at their Baptism. Following the lighting of the candles, the children will make a pledge. (Please complete the Balyna Parish Confirmation Pledge 2025, see attached link: Balyna Parish Pledge 2025). Just before Mass the completed Confirmation Pledge can be placed in the basket before the Altar. Pledges should be in a sealed envelope with candidate’s name on the front. During Mass they will be blessed and can then be retrieved after Mass.

We encourage all parents/guardians to attend and take part in this memorable occasion. Please ensure your child bring their baptismal candle. We look forward to sharing this beautiful occasion with you and your family. A meaningful step in your child’s journey of faith as they prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation.
